The Heimish Dailism Eye Palette Coral Essayº is a beautiful love letter to spring, my favourite season! I took what feels like a thousand pictures of this gorgeous coral-peachy eyeshadow palette, and so feel excited to share them with you today, together with an honest look at the quality of the shadows.
After some crazy weather in March and early April, with intense snowfalls and continuously grey, gloomy skies basically since Oktober last year, spring finally has arrived in Germany!
Thus, I was doubly excited to receive the latest edition of the Heimish Dailism Eye Palettes, the Heimish Eye Palette Coral Essay. It was part of an amazing, pink-themed review box Stylekorean sent out to 30 people.
I was so surprised when this was delivered to my doorstep – I had completely forgotten about applying for this particular review event, and since almost 2,000 people applied, I did not expect to be chosen. It’s really great how so many Korean shops and brands offer these international review events, where everyone has equal chances of being chosen – I saw girls with only a few hundred followers being chosen over hugely influential bloggers, and I approve of that.
Anyway, back to the main subject of today’s blog post: the Heimish Dailism Eye Palette Coral Essay. Heimish releases a new version of their immensely popular Dailism Eye Palettes usually for both spring and autumn. The Coral Essay Palette is the latest edition for spring 2018, and it is clearly a love letter to everything that makes this season so particularly wonderful: soft pastels, stunning metallic accents and a coral- and peach-toned colour story – perfect for a fresh eye look.
Heimish Dailism Eye Palette Coral Essay – the Look
Heimish is one of those K-beauty brands where I find it almost impossible to throw out the box the products come in – their branding is just so unbelievably stylish and beautiful. The packaging for the Dailism Eye Palette Coral Essay is, of course, themed around pinkish-coral pastels and reminds me of a book, which makes sense for a palette that is called an “Essay”, I guess!
And just like a book, the packaging for the Coral Essay Palette opens up and reveals the actual palette, hidden inside. I wish I could read the Korean writing, since I feel that it is probably something very charming and sweet. Anyone who knows Korean, feel free to let me know in the comments what it says!
The casing for the Eye Palette Coral Essay is made of sturdy plastic in a peachy, matte rose-gold colour. I instantly liked how securely you can close this. Many eyeshadow palettes, even really high end ones, can drive me mad with not closing properly! Heimish isn’t actually an expensive brand, I would say it’s a medium price range, but the products always look high end and aesthetically pleasing in a way that elevates their products.
This is why I get so annoyed when people equate all K-beauty with “cutesy” or “silly” packaging – Heimish is so sophisticated and stylish, I feel their makeup products can easily compete with “grownup” Western (or Japanese…) makeup brands.
Ah, but you are probably thinking: “Well, but what about the eyeshadow quality?” Well, let’s have a look inside the Coral Essay palette, shall we?
Heimish Dailism Eye Palette Coral Essay – the Colours
Whenever I review eye shadow palettes, I can’t help but wish I had a super fancy camera to fully reproduce the beauty of the colours and textures of the shadows. I hope I can still capture at least a fraction of the stunning colour display from the eyeshadows in this palette.
As with pretty much all of their eyeshadow palettes, the Heimish Eye Palette Coral Essay offers 4 different finishes from their eight shadows – 3 mattes, 3 soft shimmers, 1 glittery metallic and 1 duochrome, as well as an assortment of coral, pink, peach and brown-bronzy colours.
The eight eyeshadow colours are – starting from the upper left corner and going down and up again until the lower right shadow:
- Pure Peach: A matte, sandy, peachy beige
- Nude Coral: A matte, nudey salmon
- Peach Coral: The third matte colour – a lovely orange-coral, much more vivid than my image can capture!
- Coral Glitter: So beautiful – an intensely pigmented, metallic bronze with a peachy undertone
- Pink Coral: My second favourite color in this palette – a pinkish coral with such a gorgeous peachy shimmer, amazing!
- Pink Glitter: My favourite! Don’t let the “bland” first impression fool you – this champagne pink has an amazing, pinkish-peach duochrome shine that is out of this world!
- Bronze Coral: The name describes it perfectly – it is indeed a bronzey coral, much lighter and softer than it looks in the pan or when swatched
- Litch Brown: A classic cappucchino brown with gold specs, intensely pigmented
The swatches show quite well, I feel, how wonderfully these eight colours harmonise with each other. So many lovely, soft and very spring-like looks can be created with the Heimish Coral Essay Palette – I’ve used the three mattes by themselves for a simple, yet very flattering day look (use Peach Coral in your outer corner and eye socket, it makes any eye colour pop!). If you add the lovely metallics, especially my favourite darling, Pink Glitter, with its amazing pink duochrome finish, the day look quickly turns into a more intense, yet still playful evening look. I am really impressed with the versatility of the Coral Essay Palette.
When it comes to the quality of the eye shadows, I am happy to report that the pigmentation is strong, except for “Pure Peach”, which isn’t terrible, but definitely weaker than the other seven shadows. However, this is quite common for lighter mattes, so I feel it is acceptable. Pink Glitter is best worn as a topper, since it, too, is not too deeply pigmented, but the unique finish makes it nevertheless my favourite from the Eye Palette Coral Essay.
Another thing I truly appreciate about the Heimish Coral Essay Palette is the fact that it has only minimal fallout. Now, I do find it a bit irritating that both Coral Glitter and Pink Glitter are pressed so softly that they tend to crumble if you apply too much pressure, but if you aren’t prone to digging your brush into the pan then you should be fine. All shadows blend out beautifully, with zero patchiness and no adherence problems whatsoever.
Heimish Dailism Eye Palette Coral Essay – My Final Thoughts
What can I say: Heimish has created a lovely eyeshadow palette for spring 2018. As a fan of soft pastels and bronzy metallics, the colour scheme is right up my alley, and I love the versatility of the eyeshadow finishes. You truly get much to play around with, and the quality of the shadows is impressive for what I would consider a fair price point.
Korean eyeshadows get a pretty bad rep overall, mostly due to nearly nonexistent pigmentation, but I feel that Heimish is definitely one of those Korean makeup brands that can compete with Western-style makeup. And, well – the gorgeous, highly instagrammable packaging doesn’t hurt either!
By the way: if you are wondering which lip colour to pair with the coral and pink eye shadows from the Coral Essay Palette, I can highly recommend the Peripera Airy Velvet Lip Tints in #2 Pretty Orange Pink* for a vivid, bright spring look, and the more muted, natural #10 Dry Rose Brown – which, in my opinion, really goes with everything!
If you are interested in the Heimish Dailism Eye Palette Coral Essay, you can find it at Stylekorean*, the official distributor of Heimish products, for 32,00$. For a buying alternative, Yesstyle* currently offers it for roughly 28$ (23€ for us EU peeps), so make sure to compare prices – both shops tend to change their pricing often.
Let me know in the comments: Have you tried any Heimish makeup products yet? How do you feel about Korean makeup?
Take care guys!

Ich hab die Heimish Produkte noch nie ausprobiert, aber die Palette möchte ich unbedingt haben. Die Farben sind so schön und passen, finde ich, jetzt perfekt in die Zeit. Leider ist die Palette derweil “out of stock”. Naja, da heißt es wohl warten. 🙂
