This article contains affiliate links* and PR samplesº I’ve been wanting to review the T’else Kombucha Teatox Essence for ages now, so today it’s finally time to share my love for this underrated K-beauty toner with you!
There are skincare products that I love so much and use so frequently, it tends to confuse me to realise how few people actually know about them! What is a forever fave for me may be virtually unknown in the skincare community, especially when the big skinfluencers out there with millions of followers don’t seem to endorse them. This is what keeps happening with the T’else Kombucha Teatox Essence: Somehow, hardly anyone talks about this true gem of a product?
I already mentioned the Teatox Essence in one of my YouTube videos, but since it didn’t get much traction, I decided it’s time to add a written review. Hopefully, my glowing recommendation will reach a few of you and make you aware of this skin-smoothing, golden hydrator!
T’else Kombucha Teatox Essence – The Power of Kombucha
I’ve spoken about kombucha as a skincare ingredient before, in my review of the – equally excellent – Dr. Ceuracle Kombucha Cream Essence. Usually a mix of green tea extract and saccharomyces, a fermented yeast extract, this trending ingredient complex can help boost skin barrier function and potentially brighten and even out skin tones. It also soothes and calms down skin, and may support a balanced skin microbiome. Oh, and it’s also packed full of antioxidant goodness, thus great for anti aging care!
Here is the full list of ingredients for the T’else Kombucha Teatox Essence:
“Camellia Sunensis Leaf Extract, Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate, Butylene Glycol, Dipropylene Glycol, Glycerin, Methyl Gluceth-20, 1,2-Hexanediol, Niacinamide, Pentylene Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hyaluronate, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, Bifida Ferment Filtrate, Lactobacillus Ferment, Lactobacillus Ferment Lysate, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Adenosine, Water/Aqua, Citric Acid, Arginine, Ethylhexylglycerin, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia Fruit Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis Peel Oil, Salvia Sclarea Oil, Citrus Reticulata Peel Extract, Cymvopogon Martini Oil.”
So, first things first, because I know this is important to many of you: yes, the T’else Kombucha Teatox Essence contains fragrant essential oils, namely orange, tangerine and bergamot. This did not bother my skin personally, but if you are sensitive to fragrance, be careful.
In terms of “skincare goodies”, apart from the 74% kombucha extract, this also contains 3 types of hyaluronic acid for intense hydrating and a number of fermented/probiotic extracts, e.g. bifida ferment filtrate and lactobacillus ferment. Probiotics in skincare are still a massive trend globally, touted as skin barrier supporting, repairing and soothing. Calendula flower extract furthermore soothes the skin, while adenosine brightens dull complexions. All T’else products are vegan and cruelty-free, by the way!
The T’else Kombucha Teatox Essence has a watery consistency, with a light viscous “slip” to it, and a very faint, fresh citrus scent. It comes in a sturdy glass bottle and an overall minimalist look, which is representative of the entire brand aesthetic.
T’else Kombucha Teatox Essence – Hello Smooth Skin!
As a big fan of anything fermented, I was excited to try the T’else Kombucha Teatox Essence, but didn’t know too much about it overall. Once the golden-yellow liquid comes out of its glass bottle, it actually feels a lot richer than I initially assumed. This isn’t a fully watery texture, it has a certain viscosity to it that feels pleasant on my often dehydrated skin. The Kombucha Teatox Essence sinks in nicely and without any tacky or sticky feeling. I’ve said this on my YouTube channel before: you really only need a tiny amount of product for the entire face, and I’m always surprised how full my essence bottle still is, despite me using this so often!
The fragrance in this didn’t bother me much at all, it is very faint and quite nice, fresh and non-cloying. As I’ve mentioned before, fragrance in skincare isn’t a no go for me, unless the product is very heavily fragranced. This is an alcohol-free, very hydrating formula, my skin always feels and looks wonderfully plump and relaxed after I use the essence.
The absolute best thing about the T’else Kombucha Teatox Essence, however? It leaves my skin so smooth! Truly, this is the product I reach for when I prep my skin for video shoots and for the makeup I’m putting on for that occasion. It noticeably softens and smoothes skin texture, leaving my face baby-soft to the touch. Moisturisers and serums glide onto skin like a dream after using this, and foundation, too, just seems to sit especially nicely on my face thanks to this essence.
This also leaves a youthful, dewy glow, and the plumping effect is more than just a short-term benefit with regular use. I am very much in love with this kombucha essence and with T’else products as a whole. If you have dehydrated skin, mature skin, or are just looking for an essence and/or toner that gives instant hydration and has a noticeably plumping, softening effect, this is a really great addition to anyone’s skincare routine!
I would say this works for most skin types – personal sensitivities or allergies excluded of course! – and can be beneficial to those 30 and upwards if your skin shows the first signs of ageing such as sagging, dullness or texture issues (ageing is fine, by the way! Never feel bad about ageing, please!).
